Sign up for 26×1 Mile Relay and a Few Reminders

It's time to sign up to run the 26x1 Mile Relay for GLRR!  This will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Hormel Track in Medford, MA. Once again, GLRR will have 2 teams entered in this relay.  Each team will consist of 26 runners with 13 women and 13 men per team.  Each team member runs 1 mile on the track.  There is no cost to you, the club is paying for the team's entry fee.   If you are interested in participating, please fill out this GLRR Relay Request Form.  Again, there is a limit of 52 people on the team, the fastest 26 runners (13 men, 13 women) will be on the "GLRR Angry Chickents" team and the next 26 go on the "GLRR Volunteers" team.  We also could use a few alternates.…

It's time to sign up for the Angry Chicken races!   Starting June 11, give your summer that extra pop by joining us Tuesday nights at 7pm on the Lowell Riverwalk to run 2.62 miles!   *By popular demand, the series will be EIGHT RACES over ten weeks in 2024*   The Angry Chicken Race Series is a fun, family-oriented race series run on a flat course along the Merrimack River. The short distance and sidewalks make these themed races accessible to all: experienced runners, newbies, kids, walkers. Spring Track – baby sitters wanted

SPRING TRACK - Baby sitters wanted!   Spring track is starting soon. This has been a great way of improving your running over the past few years. More on the actual track sessions coming soon.   What we need now is baby sitters, or as they’ve been called in the past, Critter Sitters. We are looking for two (or three) responsible teenagers that can baby sit the younger children of those adult members that want to run track. The baby sitters usually take the youngsters to the Harrington School playground and watch over the kids as they run around and play. This is a volunteer opportunity but the sitters do get “gas” money for helping out. The track sessions start April 18th, and go until June 27th. Baby sitting goes…

Reminder to Sign Up for GP and JJR 10K races

Don't forget to sign up for the USATF-NE Road Grand Prix. The first race of the series, Super Sunday 4 Miler, is in the books. Next up is the New Bedford Half Marathon (on 3/27) and Frank Nealon Boston Tune-Up 15K (on 3/30).     If you're not signed up yet and want to run these and other Grand Prix races with GLRR sign up here.   For the Grand Prix, once again we are requiring you to pay a fee of $60.  Once you pay this fee, GLRR will pay the Grand Prix race fees for the entire series.  This fee also shows your commitment to run the series.  If you run all seven races you’ll save about $270 in race fees.  Really run just about any two races and you’re ahead.   So, in addition to the…
