Deadline for submissions has closed.
Who is eligible?
- Current GLRR members who are in good standing, that reside in the Greater Lowell area (per BAA). Good standing means that all applicants must be paid GLRR members for the current year (of this submission) and the next year (of the Marathon).
- To update your membership, if need be, go to https://runsignup.com/JoinGLRR.
- Waivers are awarded largely based on volunteering for the club during the year. The more you volunteer, the greater your probability of getting one.
- Each request is anonymously reviewed by a panel; the panel assigns a score which is based solely upon what is entered in the request.
- The highest scores will receive the waivers.
- Year to year, GLRR does not know how many waivers it will receive.
- If you have received a club waiver for the last two years in a row, then please do not submit an application at this time.
- If you are awarded a waiver, and accept a waiver, you are expected to represent the Greater Lowell Road Runners on race day and wear club apparel.
- Note that you must be able to complete the marathon under the time limit of six hours. The entry fee for this waiver is determined year-to-year by BAA. The club does not require you pay us, or fund raise. Once chosen, the fee and entry must be sent in right away. (The final BAA deadline is February 1st, with an extension to March 1st for an additional late fee.) Please return the waiver to the club if you cannot run. Once the waiver is sent in, it is for your use only; you cannot let someone else run with your number.
This form is designed to assist in the evaluation of your request and to help you think through your request and perhaps give you some ideas for next year (if you don’t get a waiver).
Please note that you must click ‘Submit’ to send your application to us. If it does not submit, then check for any error messages next to the fields to see if you missed a required field or the like.
You should receive a confirmation email once your application has been successfully received. If you do not receive such an email, or if you have issues with using this form, please contact us via email: bostonmarathonrequest@glrr.net.
(The club cannot be held responsible for improper submissions that were not brought to our attention in a timely manner.)
