The 2018 USATF-NE Grand Prix now ready for you to make requests.
The deal we offer on the Grand Prix races (free entries) is almost too good to be true. Well… yeah – it not exactly free. As you’ve certainly guessed your membership fee does not cover the cost of this awesome benefit. Itâs paid for by the money we earn through the Baystate Marathon. In the past weâve asked you to promise to volunteer. Over the last couple of months Liane (sheâs the Baystate Volunteer Coordinator) and I came up with an idea. We know the date of the Baystate Marathon and the volunteer dates â so we can let you signup now for that weekend (or other dates). So new this year, when you submit your Grand Prix requests, you must âvolunteerâ for one of the Baystate volunteer dates. If you have a preference for a specific job, you can let us know about that too. Weâll do everything we can to honor your specific requests.
A couple of other reminders:
- You must be a GLRR member in good standing
- You must be a USATF member in good standing
- If you request a race, and we enter you, and you fail to run (for any reason), you owe the club for the cost of the entry
Continuing from last year â we now ask for your emergency contact info, in addition to all the usual stuff (name, gender, DOB, city, state, USATF number, your cell number (optional for races that txt results) and shirt size).
The 2018 Grand Prix is
· Mar 18 â New Bedford Half, New Bedford MA [entry request by Mar 1]
· Mar 31 â Boston Tune-Up 15K, Upton MA [entry request by Mar 21]
· Jun 17 â Rib-Fest 5 Miler, Merrimack NH [entry request by Jun 1]
· Aug 25 â New Hampshire 10 Miler, Auburn NH [entry request by Aug 12]
· Sept 16 â Downtown 5K, Providence RI [entry request by Sept 1]
· Sep 30 â Lone Gull 10K, Gloucester MA [entry request by Sept 18]
And also Baystate â but for Baystate we will not be subsidizing your entry. For those who are competing for team age group awards (top 3), or need the marathon for an iron runner award, weâll provide a discount.
