spring trackGLRR offers track sessions for pretty much year-round.

 

The spring track season is 10 weeks long, and begins in April – right after the Boston Marathon – and continues to June.  The focus is on speed for the spring and summer race seasons.  These take place at Carson Track at the Chelmsford High School, 200 Richardson Rd, N. Chelmsford, MA.

 

There are no organized, track workouts during July.

 

The summer/fall track season is 10 weeks long; it begins in August and culminates just before the Baystate Marathon.  During these sessions there are two programs offered – one to prepare for a fall marathon, and the other a continuation of the spring speed work.  These take place at the McCarthy Middle School Track, 250 North Rd, Chelmsford, MA.  (If there is a conflict, then we will meet at the Chelmsford High School Track, 200 Richardson Rd, N. Chelmsford, MA.)

 

In the winter – starting after Thanksgiving and up to the Boston Marathon – we move indoors to Lexington HS.   The emphasis is on maintaining running fitness during the cold winter months.

 

After many track workouts – we gather for a post-workout meal and re hydration (with your favorite beverage).
