This issue reports on the year of 1991 when competitive running in Lowell reach a pinnacle. In a short period of just a few months the GLRR won the 1991 Master’s National Cross Country Championship for the second consecutive year, we placed first at Mill Cities and winning four of the six team divisions, our youth team capture a second and third at the AAU Nationals and the University of Lowell led by GLRR Coach George Davis captured NCAA Divison 2 National Cross Country Championships. The cover features the two national championship teams. We also finished second overall in the NE Grand Prix and crowned four New England Champions – Dave Dunham (male open), Peg Donovan (female open), Tom Carroll (male masters) and Doug MadGregor (male seniors).
