GLRR Calendar

Hi Members,

We are volunteering at 2 water stops for the Boston's Run To Remember Half Marathon & 5 Mile on
Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024.  We can still use a few more volunteers.  (See the volunteer link below.)

The race is Memorial Day, May 27th, and yeah, I know, it's Memorial Day. But it’s early enough in the day that it shouldn’t affect the afternoon cookouts.

As noted above, we’re manning two water stops, both in the same location (across from each other). We’ll start to set up by 6:00am. The half marathon starts at 7:00 which mean we’ll see the first runners by 7:30. That gives us an hour an half to prep. We’ll be setting up water tables and Gatorade tables. And we might have some Untapped Maple Syrup to hand out. But all you need to bring is yourself and any family members or friends you can convince to wake up early on a holiday. The race will supply everything else.

For parking, some ideas are…

• Kresge Parking Lot (131 Amherst Street)
• 80 Lansdowne Street Parking Garage
• Kendall Center Yellow Garage (75 Ames Street)
• Any MIT lot (the school will be closed)
• Or any legal on street parking

This is your chance to give back to the running community, and if you’ve never worked at a water stop before, it is a lot of fun. Looking forward to supporting the Run to Remember.
